The cheapest erectile dysfunction (ED) pills are generic Viagra, called.
The term "generic" refers to the active ingredient of a medicine or drug rather than to the advertised brand name under which the medicine is sold. It is a term referring to any drug marketed under its chemical name without advertising.
Pfizer made the originaltablet that is often referred to as the “blue pill”.The patent expired in 2013 which then allowed other pharmaceutical manufactures to make a generic version under the name of the active ingredient called Sildenafil. They are exactly the same medically and perform in the same way with the same side-effects.
As with most branded products, Viagra is sold at a higher price, therefore the generic tablets sold asare much cheaper.
Medically there is no difference between a generic medicine and the branded medicine, as they both have the same active ingredients to make them perform in the same way. They only differ in the “bulking” agents used to fill the tablet as the amount of active ingredient required, in this case Sildenafil, is very small. This makes the tablets bigger and easier to handle.
The main difference between generic andbranded named prescription medicines is cost with generics being much cheaper
Every pharmacy can choose what price they sell at, as there are no fixed prices. It will depend on what price the pharmacy can buy the drug from the wholesaler and the cost of their own overheads. They can they decide what mark-up they require and some pharmacies choose to sell some products at higher prices.

You will then know and have the confidence that all the brands being offered are genuine and will work in the same way. All the pharmaceutical companies are inspected by the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) to ensure they manufacturer the drugs to the same quality standard. This means that the key ingredient that is referred to as the “active” ingredient is exactly the same in all brands.
The other inactive ingredients that make up the bulk of the tablet are called “excipients” and can vary.
For those people who are allergic to or have an intolerance to lactose, then the is ideal for you as it is lactose free. You can check the additional excipients on the patient information leaflet supplied with your tablets.
Although medically all the generic tablets are identical, they may look different as they can vary in colour, shape and size due to the varying excipients.
The patent for, owned by Pfizer, expired in July 2013, which then allowed other pharmaceutical companies to produce generic. There are a number of companies now manufacturing which include Accord, Ajanta, Dr Reddy’s, Mylan, Teva, Torrent and Zentiva. The world's largest pharmaceutical company has announced a new partnership with Cipla, the world's largest generic drug maker, to create a generic version of Pfizer Inc.'s Viagra.
Cipla has already received approval from the U. S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for its Viagra, the company said. Pfizer Inc.'s Viagra, also known as Sildenafil, will now receive approval from the FDA for its generic version of Viagra, the drug's developer, Dr. Reddy's Laboratories, said in a company news release. The drug is a phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitor, which improves blood flow to the penis by increasing the amount of nitric oxide, a chemical in the body that relaxes the muscles in the penis and increases blood flow to the penis when you are sexually aroused.
Cipla said its new plan for the collaboration between Pfizer Inc. and Pfizer Biologics International, an end-to-end treatment for erectile dysfunction, will be based on the company's existing patent application for Viagra, which has been submitted to the FDA since December 2004, filed with Pfizer Inc. to market a generic version of Viagra in December 2006.
Cipla said its new collaboration will involve a "modification" of its current patent application to allow for generic version of Viagra to enter into the market without the need for Pfizer Inc.'s patent application approval. It also will "implements" the patent for the drug in an existing European patent for Viagra. The company will not make any new drugs until the approval of Pfizer Inc.'s generic Viagra, Cipla said. The company will continue to market its generic version of Viagra as well as its existing Viagra.
"Pfizer is committed to ensuring that the existing patent on the drug does not infringe any existing U. patent," Cipla CEO Albert Bourla said in a statement. "As the patent on Viagra expires, the company will continue to work with other pharmaceutical companies to address patent challenges associated with Viagra and its generic alternatives."
The company said Pfizer will continue to make generic Viagra available as well as its existing Viagra, both currently sold as an erectile dysfunction medication and as a treatment for the underlying heart disease, among other products. Pfizer Inc. has already launched its generic version of Viagra, Cialis, in the United States in November 2007.
The company said that in December 2007, the U. Food and Drug Administration approved its first generic version of Cialis, made by Eli Lilly & Co., Inc., and sold to Pharmacia International, Inc. in the U. in the same year, the company said. Cipla's U. patent on the drug expires in the United States in March 2008.
The company also said that in September 2009, a patent application for its generic version of Cialis, the first generic drug for erectile dysfunction to be submitted to the FDA for approval, will expire in the U. S., in December 2010, the company said. The company said that the new application will expire in the U. in March 2011.
Cipla said it expects to launch Viagra in the U. in the next few weeks. It plans to launch its generic version in the U. in August 2011.
"The U. Food and Drug Administration continues to evaluate and approve generic and alternative drugs to treat erectile dysfunction, including those for heart disease and pulmonary arterial hypertension," the company said.
Cancelled Post-Pfizer's Patent Expiration
Cipla will not launch its generic Viagra until the end of March 2011, the company said. However, the company said that it intends to launch its generic version of Viagra in the U. in the first week of April. In December 2010, Pfizer Inc. agreed to settle a patent lawsuit regarding a patent infringement suit filed by Pfizer, a subsidiary of Pfizer, in which the company was seeking damages for the loss of exclusivity of Viagra.
As part of the agreement, Pfizer agreed to sell its generic Viagra to Pharmacia International in the U. Pharmacia International will sell Viagra in the U. in April.
Cipla will also sell its generic Viagra in the U. in May.
Cipla said that in May 2009, the U. Food and Drug Administration approved its generic version of Viagra in the U.
